Tyler spoke to MTV about their introduction and told them, “I met Justin back in February. He’s a cool kid and when I got in there, he was talking about the ‘Yonkers’ video. It was weird, because I was sitting here starstruck, like, ‘Oh, fuck, it’s Bieber. He’s asking me questions.’ I’m like, ‘Shut the fuck up so I can talk to you.’ “ He said that he would want their collabortation to be like “90’s R&B.” I feel like I’m witnessing signs of the apocalypse.
Tyler is the kind of guy that gags and then raps about the terrible things he would do to anything or anyone that is as hyped as Justin. This is just as weird as him saying that he would want to be in a Twilight movie. Tyler and Justin have completely different styles and tastes, I just don’t see how a collaboration would work if they do decide to pursue one.
I’m not trying to say that Justin Beiber isn’t a respectable musician at all because he definitely is, but, I think Tyler would lose the respect of his fans if he were to do this. Tyler’s fan base is most likely a bunch of angst-filled adolescents, not 13-year-old oogly-eyed girls. While they might be fans of each other and think that a collaboration would rock, they should just leave it alone and not. It’s not the best for either of their images: Tyler’s grimey and angry and Justin’s clean cut and love struck.
